Hi,
So our journey so far has been rocky at best. We launched back in May 2021, hoping to get a ton of traffic instantly =) Of course, that did not happen! Our current Project Management tools include:
In spite of offering a free and a very affordable (pro plan) real-time collab solution we did not see a huge rise in paid signups. But we did get lots of feedback.. and we listened. Turns out many customers were paying an extra $15 /user /month to Calendly to have their meetings scheduled...which was costing them an extra $50-$100/month.
So we got to work, and within a week we released a beta version of our scheduling service. We released it to a selected beta testers, chosen from our existing customer pool, to iron out any bugs. A few days after we rolled it out app-wide. The customer response has been incredible. We did not even have to do any marketing for it as our existing customers did the job for us... if that makes sense. So, within the first week of the feature release we went from an avg of 200 active users to a little over 2000 active users ( many of whom ended up being paid customers )!!!
As I am writing this article I am realizing that the true moral of the story is to always listen to your customers. Whether you have 1 or 1000 customers, everyone one of them needs your attention!
Here are a couple of guides we published to explain the scheduling feature when we released it.

I am pretty sure the algorithm to matrix out the available slots against the existing appointments was very complicated!! kiddos to this accomplishment!!
To be honest, that was the most difficult part of it all! The algorithm had to be extremely accurate without sacrificing the performance!
I just tried out your service ( signed up with the free account ) and it looks amazing! I only tested the scheduling service and it just worked! It is limited to two meetings which is a bummer but I guess I am on the free account after all. I will not be able to upgrade just yet ( in collage and all ) but I will be definitely using it. Happy found you!
Congrats for the milestone Linda. btw how do you "listen to your customers"? I mean, do you just talk to them randomly and they start to tell you that they have a problem of spending extra cash to afford Calendly? (I stuck on this with my product, hope I can learn more about your story, it's a great journey)
So we have several ways to connect with the customers.
Internal Support Ticket System that allows our customers to open tickets for bugs, feature requests, or anything else they need our help with
We have a Cogency Slack Channel that we encourage any member to join to be able to discuss anything with us informally
Additionally when we offered some LTDs in some FB groups we got a number of folks join Cogency and remained members of those FB groups, so they tend to ping us from time to time with requests as well
thank you linda, I just could do number 3. I don't event have the community yet to do 1 and 2, once again, thank you

Great work Linda!
You identified a customer’s problem, listened to them, built a solution, tested it before rolling out, and got the customers themselves to promote it for you.
This is a classic and timeless way for bootstrappers to promote their products.
Thank you for sharing this.
Kudos.
This is awesome - thanks for sharing Linda and congrats on the successful launch!
Thank you! How is your business going? I did DM you the other day but I think you were busy busy :)
Oh where? Totally missed that!
