In this post I tell a short story on how we realized it is a time to move away from a marketplace and create our own platform.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
"come on" not "common"
"catching up" not "caughting up"
your admin panels look slick af, we have been modifying metronic for months now to fit the needs of our saas ecommerce app and I really regret going with metronic.
good luck
Thanks, fixed ;)
Yes, sometimes there are cases when it is better to start template free and create everything from scratch.
Thank you

Thanks @webapppro,
Well, I can say about admin templates market: there was definitely a strong wish among developers from cheap countries to dump prices. On wrapbootstrap it was regulated only by a minimal price, hence there are lots of themes for $20 or even less. It was, of course, hard to compete with theme developers from those countries. The only option left was to keep adding new features and hence look more feature-reach comparing to other themes. Anyways, the ROI (including time spent supporting and developing) was very low. That's why we decided to leave and sell on our own platform.
There are some statistics using web archive wayback machine: Wrapbootstrap had around 45,000 since October 2017 (one year). From those, 11,284 sales amount to top 4 admin templates. Another 34 thousands go to other templates which makes this market pretty diverse.
Roots of globalization everywhere ;)

This is a valuable lesson that we learned with my business (Shoppe). We relied heavily on Facebook for the longest time and it cost us dearly.
Thanks Thomas, that's an incredible comment. It took years for me to realize we won't be able to scale well relying on a third party
