We started in 2013 as a Twitter retweet service, nearly died three times, pivoted our name, expanded to 25+ platforms, and now serve clients in 80+ countries — all bootstrapped.
Back in 2013, Twitter was exploding and nobody was talking about social proof in the way they do now. We launched gettwitterretweet.com with a simple premise: creators and brands needed a starting point. Getting your first 100 retweets from zero is brutally hard. We called it the cold start problem — and we built a solution for it.
It worked. Word spread. Orders came in.
But we quickly realised that pinning the business to a single platform was an existential risk. Twitter could change its API, its terms, its algorithm — overnight. So we started expanding.
Rebranding from a platform-specific name to something broader was one of the best decisions we made. GTR Socials (gtrsocials.com) gave us room to grow. Today we offer services across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram, Spotify, Discord, and 17+ other platforms.
The old domain still lives — it redirects to us now. But the business became something much bigger.
Payment processing is a nightmare in this industry. Social media promotion services are classified as high-risk by virtually every major processor. Stripe restricted us. We've been through the whole gauntlet — applications, rejections, appeals, rolling reserves, volume caps. We now run multiple processors simultaneously just to maintain continuity. If you're building anything in this space, plan for this from day one. Don't let a single processor suspension kill your revenue.
Platform policy changes are constant. Every major algorithm update, API restriction, or terms-of-service change is a potential disruption. We've survived all of them by diversifying across platforms and being genuinely responsive to what clients actually need.
Scaling trust is harder than scaling volume. We have a 0.03% dispute rate across 35,000+ clients. That didn't happen by accident — it happened because we obsessed over delivery quality, 24/7 support, and standing behind our money-back guarantee.
35,000+ clients served across 80+ countries
2.7 million+ engagements delivered
25+ platforms covered
Average order: $10–$40 (high volume, low ticket — which has its own challenges and advantages)
12 years in — still bootstrapped, still growing
We've recently invested heavily in technical infrastructure — a custom Vue 3 + Laravel checkout, SEO content at scale, and a proper blog that actually helps people understand social media growth rather than just selling to them.
Diversify your platform exposure from the start. Don't build a moat around one social network.
Sort your payment infrastructure early. High-risk merchant accounts take time to establish. Start applying before you need them.
Content compounds. The blog posts we wrote 3 years ago still drive traffic today. We underinvested in content for too long.
The cold start problem never goes away. Every new creator, every new brand, every new product launch faces it. That's why this market keeps growing.
We're not a VC-backed startup. We're not chasing a $100M exit. We're a tight operation that's been quietly solving a real problem for over a decade — and we're still here.
