How would you monetize this?
I built a simple time and weather app that i think is very helpful: https://theclockapp.vercel.app/
Now the question is how to build a premium version of this, I was thinking of limiting number of clocks for a free plan or have premium only features like accessing news + history + weather.
The other way is to keep it free but run ads...maybe even Native Ads so it doesn't seem as disruptive.
What do you think?
I am trying to be imaginative. so this is just an excercise, you still have to find out who and what pain you are solving for.
Maybe they are corporates which wants all employees to have access to sites times. With specific customers times which should also be confidential and secured. So lets say i want to schedule a zoom meeting with a customer for support they can know where i am in the world times. The pain is make scheduling more certain for support.

What would help me answer the question is knowing who you’re building for, what problem of their’s does it solve, and how does it solve that problem?
You may already have this info but my personal opinion is that you establish if the problem is significant enough that users continue to use/find your product, and then figure out how to monetize its use.

I built this app for myself but going beyond that the target demographic would be any person working in a globally distributed team who would like to get a quick snapshot of the time, weather, maybe news of a region their coworker is in. 'Oh - John is in France? What time is it there again?'
I started building it just for time as that was my most frequent question but added more features to make it more comprehensive.
It felt more like a new tab extension for browsers. Which may generate more visits. Something to consider.
Without news section I failed to imagine how native ads would look like.
So free news, with a capability of importing RSS feeds and native ads sounds like a good start to me.
I don't know in which state someone will go ahead and say I need to know weather in different cities and I'm gonna to pay for it.
Okay I skimmed through the inspirational tweet now, felt like it was a bit stretch but if you manage to land him as your first customer. It may pay off for your efforts.
As an opinion, twitter trends based on locations may also work along with local news. However for a remote team, local news and those trends can be in different languages. 🤷♂️
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah I agree an extension does make sense I'm just defaulting to a web app cause I like the mobile view and secretly hope people save it to Home Screen and use it as an 'app' :D
The target demographic would be remote workers. I actually built this partly for myself as I constantly find myself googling the time in different locations. The weather seemed like a nice add on. I was not 100% convinced about thew News but if there seems to be demand I and build it.
I actually did consider Twitter topics and that was gonna be one of the things I looked at once I build the News section out! Good to know we're thinking the same. :)
