How would you use a referral contest to grow your newsletter/product?
I think it's a fun way to grow your newsletter/product by giving away a prize to the person who gets the most referrals.
And it seems like an effective way to grow your newsletter (if done right of course).
Successful examples: Morning Brew, Scott Cheap Flights.

Does anyone has experience with 'referral contest software'? (I stumbled upon Kickoff Labs and GrowSurf. Both looked fine)

http://giveawayboost.com/ is a referral contest software ... We did a giveaway in my physical products business last year to grow our list and should have used incentivized referrals. When we do another giveaway we will use one of these services.
I'm thinking of partnering with a large company and running a paid competition, but that is a while a way :)
