It's a competitive area this one. But if you can find a point of difference and improve where the competitors are lacking you might have a shot. Plus scanning for sites whose certs have expired and contacting them should be a relatively easy lead gen technique.

Looks handy but it might be a difficult business to get into. There are plenty of sites offering uptime monitoring combined with SSL expiration montoring.
