Hello IH's !
I have built a new landing page on https://www.colorsandfonts.com and I need some feedback.
There's for sure space to improve the feeling.
I feel it sort of boring compared to how it looked before.
What do you guys think?
The actual landing
Https://www.colorsandfonts.com
The old

I appreciate a lot.
Thank and have a good day.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but for a site dedicated to colors and fonts, it's very flat visually and not very inspirational as a resource.
Hey Sodux.
Actually I never had such a comment regarding that it has to pop because of the colors
In fact,it has never been my intention to make it pop. Why? Because the user comes to c&f to work.
It could deffinately be more popping and so on but there's no need.
I have it in the road map to play around with typography...i just don't see the time...
What you mean with examples? Like UI or Illustrations shots?
Thanks a lot Sodux !
Correct. More akin to like a "Fast Food" menu of an example snippet. Some of these points are just my personal theory for brand design. That's why I did not give specific examples about color or typography structure cause your audience (brand vision) may be different than the audience I'm thinking about.
Oh I get you, I think this is like a story telling mentioned underneath in the comments... now I get. I like the idea a lot.
I came up once with the idea to have a page with inspiration, but the inspiration shots featured must have used a color palette from c&f... from UI, illustrations, graphic design,... I just didn't get there still.
Plus I can't backend if they want to upload it... and it should be manually.
I have to look at that. Absolutely.
What audience are you thinking about, maybe students?
It could be students, but the focus most of the time on these resources is on people already in the industry. It's rare to see the focus be to inspire and give guidance to the next wave of creatives.
Personal example: I got into building websites and design back in the Geocities days. I got inspired because of a friend in high school who showed me the possibilities of websites, etc.
If there was a goto place ala Dribble but a focus on the technical and possibilities of design my younger self would have been a frequent visitor.
Let me know if that helps.
My apologies for the delay,...
On focus on the technical and possibilities of design...
Can I DM you on Twitter?
Yes.
Hey @Michael_Andreuzza! π Great stuff, I've gone through the site and here's my feedback:
I think the menu button on the home page should be slightly bigger to be more apparent and the footer items slightly bigger as well, the letters look quite close to each other due to the font itself I think so when small it creates a slight blurred illusion from a distance, it could just be the media query on my screen size, for reference, I'm on the Macbook Air 13-inch.
I've used the extension I'm working on now to convert it to Figma to show you what I mean, have a look below, I used screenshots for subscribe the button and learn more and other icons so don't mind the pixels! π Everything else converted well just quickly brushed up so there might be a few things missing.

Hope that helps!
Hey victor ! I remember your product being posted in Figma designers fb groups for pre launch. Good stuff.
Hey I was watching what you I really appreciate that you took the effort I will considering doing the fonts bigger.
In fact I have been thinking to remove all that navigation in the footer... the footer does not fit in the screen.
Dors it feel small the menu? Ok I can haveca look into it.
Thank you so much for your feedback.
No worries!
Ah okay I see, that might be a better experience, maybe having a fixed sidebar might work better in that case, might not be the best example but something like https://www.30secondsofcode.org
that was a cool site :- ). I used to have a sidebar....I had no space for nothing hehe- Thank you though. !
Agreed with what others have said: it's 100% better than the old. Nice flow and very clean/easy to navigate. Has a similar flow to the actual Bulma site, which is not a bad thing.
Bear in mind, although you might find it boring, your potential customers might find it less stressful than endless navigation and too many options. Don't fall into the development/designer trap of way too many bells and whistles. Too many options is the exact same as not enough.
Good job!
Hey thank you for checking it out ! The site is actually built with bulma, well Buefy's CSS but it's Burma's...
I think I felt it boring because there was so many colors and stuff going on before..i just have to get used to it.
Thank you so much !
I'd bring your CTA(call to action) above the fold. I'd also change the CTA, instead of learn more give the user the ability to subscribe immediately on the first page, that extra click will knock out a good % of people that may have subscribed. I think the copy could be more clear, what is the primary offer and build around that.
hey !
I was actually thinking to remove the CTA section with the learn more button because now I have a card linking to it. It feels like too much pointing to the Newsletter otherwise...
What you think?
That is 100% improvement from the page at dribble. Very pleasant aesthetics also. I would add a bolder headline and possibly a picture at the top and focus more on story telling, either with examples or testimonials, to make it more humane and to drift away from a more vanilla content directory page.
Hey! I am glad you like it.
What do you mean with storytelling? like
To talk more about the essence of the product and its use cases. For example for facebook is connecting people through an online forum and for airbnb is hostile accommodation out of town. In your siteβs case, maybe it is βBeautiful & engaging color schemes in your inbox.β and if thatβs the case I would have the contents of the βLearn moreβ page straight at the top of your landing page.
Sorry for my delay, I was at work.
So you mean to turn the whole thing around and focus on the newsletter?
