I browsed a few remote job boards that were posted here and in other places.
I am currently looking for work.
I want to have a job board that:
- allows me to filter offers by technology AND role. I am looking for react jobs for front-end, meaning I want to see as little of backend as possible. And yet I get bombarded with full stack offers that I have to sift through.
- has pay ranges in ALL of the offers. It's unacceptable to spend days on job interviews to then just realize that the pay will 3 times less than what you had in mind.
- allows me to filter offers by DOMAIN in which a company works in. I have strong experience in many education projects, so that's what I would like my company to work in.
- allows me to filter out offers that only accept USA candidates. I see those tags on offers, but why there is no option to filter out these offers with a checkbox or something???
- preferably I just want to post cv ONCE on your website and be done. Send out my cv automatically to job offers that I am interested in / that I am a good match for or let the companies see my cv. I don't want to apply by hand over and over again.
So, here you go. People often ask "what problems do you have / what should I build for you". I have these problems and I still haven't found a solution. Either help me find it, or I will build it myself.
Now a small moment of complaning: I have seen like a 10 or so remote job boards and they ALL LOOK THE SAME and HAVE THE SAME FUNCTIONS.
I see no creativity in them, no interesting solutions, just the same flat list of offers with few tags, crappy search option and that's it. And then people are surprised that they get no traffic...
Hi @mdoplasin!
I had the same frustration trying to search for a new remote job. The extra challenge for me was the tricky timezone (GMT+4). Once I got the job, I started working on reactremote.dev. It doesn't have any filters yet. I'm curious, what should this board have for you to start relying on it?
I like to browse this one: https://dynamitejobs.co/
Job boards' customers are the businesses / or recruiters that pay for them not the candidate, so most of the good ones probably got good by tailoring it really well to the business's needs i.e. Indeed, etc
Well, they pay for the access to the job boards audience.
So if you had amazing job board, you would get a lot of audience. If you got a lot of audience, you would get a lot of businesses wanting to promote there, no matter what are the requirements.
yep i agree, its also helpful to try using a job board from the business side — Indeeds pltform for recruiters and businesses is way better than most others. Perhaps a reason they have so many job listings from businesses
The functionality they have is more than most platforms I’ve used
Awesome points. Currently riffing on a job board so will keep these in mind :)
Well, make it fast, I want that job ASAP ;)
Haha will do!
This one has a lot of the features you mention. Has remote filter, but isn't remote specific. Maybe a good reference point: https://www.builtinaustin.com/jobs. Broader version https://builtin.com/jobs/dev-engineering
Thanks!
