Hi Podcasters,
Thanks for creating such an amazing group.
My friend and I are launching a podcast next month and I am still researching mistakes to avoid.
We formed the habit of reading various books and discussing our opinions on what we read. We often disagreed on a lot of matters and our understanding of what we read. That is when we decided to share our thoughts through a podcast.( AddictedToBooks - https://addictedtobbooks.buzz )
Anything you guys would like to share before we start?
Hey Yvette,
Congrats on starting on your podcasting journey! I just came across this post here on IH - maybe it helps https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-to-start-a-podcast-easily-in-2021-1bfc28ca84?commentId=-MaSMAuXYfJ_2KPv3U6f
Otherwise, what kinds of areas are you most worried about or interested in?
In addition to the guide I linked to, I find that the "trouble" really starts after launch. People put their podcast up, but find it hard to get listeners early. If this happens, the most important thing is to not get disheartened by it. If you're consistently publishing and respond to signals from your audience (and even feedback from other podcasters), you'll soon build a community around your show. Keep it up! 👏
