Goutham's comment about stoicism in indie hackers (in his PH tweet that you linked) touches on a topic that I've been wrestling with. He says he kept his expectations low and it worked well for him. I think there's value in that. But I also know people who expect gold coins and sparkles to rain down on them, and it seems to work pretty well for them. So I wonder whether it's best to not get ahead of oneself, or if it's better to aim for the stars. Honestly, I think the latter is probably a better mindset. Particularly for indie hackers — we really need to believe and have gumption.
Interesting insight about the acquisition channels.
The channels that will work for you ultimately depend on where your audience is. For example, if you're targeting dentists, it's unlikely that a channel like IndieHackers would work for you. So I think that's quite an important factor to take into consideration.
Agreed! This works for tech / software products I assume
