For years I’ve been juggling multiple websites, a full-time job, and various online projects. The one thing I’ve consistently failed at is keeping up with regular blog posting.
I like building systems.
I like automating things.
But writing consistently? I’d fall off every time.
About a month ago I started wondering what would happen if I automated the entire blogging pipeline end-to-end — not just generating drafts, but literally everything:
coming up with topics
writing the posts
generating the featured images
formatting
adding tags/categories
publishing on WordPress
It took me a few weeks of tinkering to get the automation stable enough to test on a real site. About 10 days ago, I finally switched it on and stepped out of the way.
When you remove “human bottlenecks,” consistency becomes effortless
Seeing posts appear automatically is strangely motivating
Most of my burnout came from the process, not the writing itself
WordPress is a lot less intimidating when you’re not doing all the plumbing
Automation actually gave me more energy to work on the site, not less
For this test, I haven’t edited a single post — I wanted to see what true hands-off publishing looks like.
If you’re curious about the output, the last 10 days of posts on my site were generated entirely by the automation:
I’m still refining things and trying to figure out the best direction to take this.
Not sharing the underlying workflow (it’s tightly tied to my own setup), but I’m happy to talk about:
what broke
what surprised me
what I’d do differently
unexpected edge cases
or anything that might be useful for other builders
Always enjoy seeing what people here are working on as well!
