I built 68 free text tools in a few weeks — here's what I learned
A few weeks ago, I got frustrated with online text tools. They're slow, cluttered with popups, and most require a free account just to convert text to uppercase.
So I built TextCaseConverters.com — 68 free browser-based text tools across 10 categories:
• Case converters (uppercase, camelCase, snake_case, etc.)
• Text cleaning (remove duplicates, trim whitespace, etc.)
• Encoders/decoders (Base64, URL, HTML)
• Text analysis (readability score, keyword density)
• Font styles, ciphers, generators and more
Everything runs locally in your browser. No signup, no tracking, no limits.
What I learned building it:
1. Simple tools get real traffic — people search for "uppercase converter" thousands of times a day
2. Static sites on Cloudflare Pages are ridiculously fast and free
3. Getting your first 100 users feels amazing even if revenue is $0
Currently at 105 users with $0 revenue. Working on getting Google AdSense approved.
Would love feedback from the community — what would make you actually bookmark a text tool site?
