Hey everyone!
I'm excited to finally launch MatrixQR here on Indie Hackers.
Like many of you, I use QR codes constantly—for Wi-Fi access, sharing links, or vCards. But every time I needed to generate one, I hesitated. Why? Because most free online generators process your data on their servers.
When you paste a private link or internal company data into a random website, you have no idea if they are logging it, storing it, or analyzing it.
I wanted a tool that was:
Truly Private: Data never leaves the browser.
Fast: No loading spinners or server latency.
Clean: No ads, no trackers, no bloat.
So, I built MatrixQR.
MatrixQR is built to be lightweight and secure.
100% Client-Side: All QR code generation happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your data never touches my servers.
Zero Dependencies: I kept the stack minimal to ensure it loads instantly.
Open & Free: It’s completely free to use.
Key Features
Multi-format Support: , Wi-Fi, vCards, Email, SMS, and more.
Instant Download: Get high-quality PNGs immediately.
What's Next?
I'm currently working on adding more advanced customization options and potentially a batch generation feature for power users. I'd love to hear your feedback on what features are missing from current generators.
