Hey Indie Hackers,
over the past months I’ve been working on a simple but important project: a curated list of privacy-friendly tools. The idea came from frustration — too many people still rely on Big Tech services that track and profile them.
So I started collecting alternatives and put them together on one site:
---
What you’ll find
- Operating systems with strong privacy defaults
- Browsers that don’t track you
- Search engines without profiling
- Encrypted email and messaging services
- VPNs, password managers, cloud storage, ad blockers, and more
Each category has carefully selected tools, short descriptions, and links. The goal is to make it easy for anyone to switch to more private software.
---
Why I’m sharing it here
I know many of you care about user rights, security, and building products that respect privacy. My hope is that this resource helps you and your users.
I’d love your feedback:
- Are there tools I should add?
- Would an API or JSON export of the list be useful?
- Any ideas on how to grow the project further?

Together, we can make privacy the default.
