Hey Indie Hackers!
After years of struggling to build discipline, stay consistent, and fight comfort, I realized that real growth doesn’t come from motivation. It comes from doing hard things, every single day—just one percent better than yesterday.
So I built StayHard — a no-excuses habit engine that forces you to get out of your comfort zone and level up daily through uncomfortable actions.
What you can do with StayHard:
- Receive 1% harder missions each day across six tracks: cold exposure, running, strength, focus, study, and early wake-up
- Track your XP, level up, keep your streak alive, and analyze your weekly growth
- Use the built-in AI coach when you're ready to give up or need a mental push
- Join leaderboards and private “crews” for friendly competition and accountability
- Rest smart: recovery days are injected automatically when fatigue is detected
This isn’t a feel-good tracker. It’s a mission. A daily war against the easy path.
I'm sharing the entire build in public here: https://x.com/bartzalewskidev
Thanks for checking it out.

Love this mindset — building something to solve your own discipline challenges is often where the best products come from.
I followed a similar path but in a completely different area: I consume a lot of long-form YouTube content (lectures, interviews, podcasts…) and was wasting hours copy-pasting transcripts manually to turn them into notes and summaries.
So I built a simple web tool to automate full transcript extraction (from any YouTube video, playlist, or even full channel), clean up the text, and export it into multiple formats. It also grabs all the metadata (title, duration, thumbnails, etc.) so I can feed it into my knowledge management system (Notion / Obsidian).
It started as a small project for my own workflow, but now I’m onboarding early users to learn how others might use it too.
Always happy to share a link if anyone’s curious or dealing with video content!
Hey! Thanks for the kind words.

Shout out to David Goggins :)
He's the reason I got motivated to build a discipline. I went from 89kg in February to 72kg in May. Shout out to David Goggins!
That sounds really good👍
Thanks! I'm experimenting to find an everlasting motivation/discipline system for me. If you have any suggestions, please let me know :)
Great idea!
Thanks!
