Meshr is launching today on PH. Show some love and support.
The problem I had:
I manage several gaming websites - close to 3,000 pages of content. Every quarter, I'd fire up my cloud SEO subscription, analyze internal linking for 20 minutes, then ignore it for 3 months.
$600/year for 3 hours of use. That's $200/hour for something I could automate.
What I built:
Meshr Desktop - AI-powered internal linking that runs on your Mac. You bring your own OpenAI key, pay ~$2 per analysis, and own it forever.
No subscriptions. No cloud uploads. Just your data staying local on your computer.
Why desktop instead of SaaS:
I went to an SEO conference and showed my prototype. Agency owners immediately said: "We can't upload client data to cloud tools". They also said: "We manage 50 sites. Can't pay $50/month per client."
That's when I realized: there's a market for privacy-first, lifetime-access tools that doesn't want more subscriptions.
What surprised me:
The BYOK model is controversial
Half the people I talk to love it ("finally, transparency!"). The other half find it confusing ("I have to get my own API key?").
I'm betting on power users who want control > convenience. But maybe I'm wrong?
macOS-only is limiting but freeing
I chose macOS first because:
1. I'm a Mac user (eat your own dog food)
2. Better to own 100% of a smaller market
3. Windows is planned but not rushed
Agencies REALLY care about privacy
More than I expected. Healthcare, legal, finance agencies literally can't use cloud SEO tools due to compliance. Local processing isn't a "nice to have" - it's a deal-breaker.
We're launching on Product Hunt today:
$60 for single license (normally $99)
$150 for 3-pack agencies (normally $297)

Questions for the community:
1. Would you pay once for a desktop tool vs. subscribe to a cloud tool?
2. Is "Bring Your Own OpenAI Key" too technical for most users?
3. Should I rush a Windows version or perfect macOS first?
Thanks for reading! Would love honest feedback - especially the brutal kind. 🙏
