Hey everyone,
FitConvert is a tool I built to help fitness nerds easily convert their workout files between different file formats. It's a niche problem, but it was one that I had and it turns out a decent number of other people do too.
Earlier today, I shipped a new feature that helps address a major frustration athletes face when a heart rate chest strap drops its connection during a workout. That little glitch plummets the heart rate reading to zero, completely ruining the "Avg HR" stat for the entire file. I wanted to give users a way to manually repair these broken files, so I built a new Heart Rate Smoothing feature.
I'm still working on the UX but it's live on FitConvert and hopefully the people who need it, find it. If there are any front-end devs, data nerds, or runners on here, I'd love for you to try out the product and the new tool and let me know what you think!
I like that this solves a data-quality problem rather than just a file-format problem.
A corrupted heart-rate segment doesn't just affect one metric—it changes how someone interprets an entire workout. Helping users repair the underlying data feels much more valuable than simply converting it from one format to another.
Appreciate the thoughtful feedback!
One thing I'd keep watching is whether users judge the repaired data by its technical accuracy or by whether it restores confidence in the decisions they make afterward.
Those sound similar, but they're very different products. One repairs files. The other repairs trust in the workout itself.
