Most ideas die in silence. Not because they were bad, but because nobody was honest enough to say what they actually thought.
I have watched founders, students, and creatives pour everything into their ideas and share them with the world. What they get back is silence, vague encouragement, or feedback so polished it says nothing at all. I built Forge Instinct because I wanted to change that.
What is Forge Instinct?
Forge Instinct is a community platform where you post your idea and receive structured feedback called instincts from real people. Each instinct includes a flame rating from 1 to 6 and honest written commentary. The community tells you what they actually think.
But here is the part that makes it different.
You get a base of 5 guaranteed receivable instincts upon sign up. The instincts you receive external to those 5 on your own project stay hidden until you give back to the community. For every instinct you leave on someone else's idea, one of yours unlocks. We call it Give to Get. It keeps the community genuinely active because everyone has skin in the game. Nobody posts and disappears. Nobody gets feedback for free. Every piece of feedback you receive was earned, not handed to you.
Where we are
We are live and in beta at forge-instinct.com. The platform is fully functional. We have a real community mechanic, a leaderboard, a NeedsFeedback page that surfaces ideas that have not received enough attention, and a Give to Get system that has already shown it works in early testing.
We are a registered company, we are building in public, and we are looking for our first real community of founders, developers, and creatives who have ideas they want honest feedback on.
What I am looking for
If you have an idea you have been sitting on, a project you are building, or a concept you want the community to pressure test before you invest everything into it, Forge Instinct is for you.
Come and post your idea. Leave an instinct on someone else's. See what honest feedback actually feels like.

Honestly, the thing I'd be most careful with isn't whether people give feedback.
It's what people start believing after they receive it.
I've seen founders collect a lot of thoughtful feedback and still end up more confident in the wrong things because the feedback felt useful, active, and detailed.
That's why what stood out to me here isn't the Give-to-Get mechanic.
It's how you decide which instincts deserve trust once they start piling up.
This is probably the most important challenge you could have raised and honestly it is one I think about a lot.
You are right that volume of feedback is not the same as quality of feedback. Someone can receive 20 instincts and still walk away more confident in the wrong direction if they are subconsciously filtering for the ones that confirm what they already believe.
The way Forge Instinct tries to address this is through the flame rating system and the helpfulness mechanic. Reviewers rate each other's instincts for helpfulness which over time surfaces the reviewers whose feedback consistently lands well with founders. The leaderboard rewards quality of contribution not just quantity. So the instincts that come from high quality consistent reviewers carry more visible weight than ones from people who just showed up once.
But I will be honest with you, that does not fully solve the problem you are describing. The founder's own interpretation of feedback is the last mile and that is genuinely hard to design around.
What we are thinking about for a future version is a way to surface instincts that contradict each other clearly so instead of a founder seeing 15 instincts and unconsciously filtering, the platform actively shows them where the community disagreed and why. Force the dissonance into view rather than letting it get buried.
What would you trust in a platform like this? Genuinely curious.
Curious how you're thinking about the disagreement surface — that part feels like it will be hard to get right.
If you're open to it, happy to share a more structured take over email as well.
Really appreciate that, the disagreement surface question is one I genuinely do not have a clean answer to yet. Would love your take.
Feel free to share here if you are happy to, always useful to have these conversations in the open where others can weigh in too. But equally happy to connect over email if you prefer.
Happy to send it over.
