Hey Indie Hackers,
I recently launched a free side project called AI Prompt Forge:
It’s a simple, no-login tool that helps you create high-quality AI prompts—whether you’re writing, coding, marketing, or generating AI images.
Why I built it
The problem I kept seeing (and experiencing myself) was that AI tools are powerful, but most people don’t get great results from them. Not because the models are bad, but because the prompts are weak.
For example:
“Write a blog post about productivity.” → generic output
vs.
“Write a persuasive blog post for startup founders on how to improve productivity using time-blocking, with examples and action steps.” → much better
Most people don’t think in prompt structures. So I built something that helps bridge that gap — especially for non-tech users, marketers, solopreneurs, and creators.
What it does
The tool asks a few simple questions (topic, tone, output format, etc.), then instantly builds a detailed prompt based on your inputs. Right now it supports:
Writing prompts (blogs, emails, copy)
Coding prompts
Marketing/branding prompts
Midjourney image prompts
Brainstorming prompts
It works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and even image models like Midjourney and DALL·E.
There’s no login, no tracking, and no upsell. Just a lightweight web app that generates good prompts instantly.
How I built it
I kept it lean:
Frontend: HTML, Tailwind CSS, a bit of vanilla JS
Backend: Cloudflare Workers calling AI models (Gemini, LLaMA3)
Hosting: Blogger (for now — planning to migrate)
Domain: Just using the Blogspot link temporarily while testing
The goal was to build something functional fast, without spending weeks on full-stack features or user auth.
What’s next
Here’s what I’m thinking of adding:
A library of pre-made prompt templates (downloadable packs)
Chrome extension to generate prompts anywhere
User submissions (community prompt ideas)
Possibly monetize with premium features later — but free will always be available
Ask for the community
If you’ve built or used AI tools before, I’d love your thoughts on:
What other prompt categories should I add?
Would you find value in downloadable prompt templates or a Chrome extension?
Any tips on growing traffic beyond Reddit/Product Hunt?
Appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
Thanks for reading — and happy building.
