I Built a Free App Store Screenshot Designer for App Owners

I kept running into the same problem when preparing screenshots for app store listings: the app itself was ready, but making the screenshots look polished and consistent took way more time than it should.

So I built a small browser-based tool to make that part easier.

You can:

  • Upload your existing app screenshots
  • Apply polished App Store-style layouts
  • Customize the design
  • Export store-ready PNGs
  • Keep your files in the browser instead of uploading them to a server

It’s completely free, with no complicated setup. Just open it in your browser, design the screenshots, and export them.

I built this specifically for app owners who want better-looking store screenshots without having to open a full design tool every time.

Disclosure: I built this tool.

It was built using modified Goldie software under the MIT License. Thanks for making Goldie open source! 🙌

If you work on mobile apps, give it a try and let me know what you think: https://appnatively.com/free-app-store-screenshot-designer

The workflow makes sense, but I’m curious what users value most: saving design time or actually seeing better App Store conversion?

Which one do users mention first when they explain why they want the tool — saving time or improving conversion?

Good question. I’m actually trying to figure that out right now. My guess is most people start with “saving time,” but if the screenshots don’t help conversion, the time saved doesn’t mean much.

I’d love to hear what others have seen with their own app listings.

That’s the key distinction. Are you planning to measure whether users’ screenshots actually improve their store conversion, or is that still too hard to track?
