I built a free ATS resume checker to test a pure-SEO go-to-market

No ads. No cold outreach. No Product Hunt launch. Just content and indexing.
The product: Screend — upload your resume, get an ATS score in 30 seconds, no signup required. Every existing tool makes you create an account before showing you anything. I removed all that friction.

But the real experiment is distribution. I'm targeting two markets simultaneously:

  • USA via English guides on ATS best practices
  • India via Hindi-translated guides targeting Naukri, TCS, Infosys, Wipro job seekers

12 programmatic guide pages per language, all indexed yesterday. Now I wait.

The bet: if the content ranks, the tool gets organic traffic, and $2.99/use converts enough to be worth it.

  • Stack: Next.js 14, GPT-4o, Supabase, Vercel
  • Time to build: ~1 week
  • Current MRR: $0 (LemonSqueezy approval pending)

Live at https://www.screend.app — would love feedback on:

  • Is the score useful or does it feel generic?
  • Pricing gut check: is $2.99 per analysis the right call, or does one-time pricing kill the habit loop?
  • Anyone done pure-SEO GTM before? How long until you saw traction?
