Hey IH π
I'm Roberto, a dad and a solo dev. When we were expecting, every baby registry I tried had the same two problems: it locked me into a single store, and it forced our guests to create an account just to reserve a gift.
So I built BabyWish (https://babywish.app) - a free registry where you add gifts from ANY shop (paste an Amazon link and it auto-fills), share the list on WhatsApp with one link, let guests reserve with zero signup, and split big-ticket items with group gifting. It's free, no ads, and localized in 11 languages. Built entirely in my evenings.
Now I'm on the fun part: growing a consumer product the bootstrapped way - mostly SEO and content, since expecting parents aren't exactly hanging out on Twitter π
If you've grown a consumer (non-SaaS) product without an ad budget, I'd love to hear what actually worked for your first users. And any feedback on BabyWish is very welcome.
Thanks π
