I built a free browser extension that bulk-downloads images with local AI search

OmniPic is a browser extension that goes beyond save-as for sniffing every image on any page or whole site.

What it does:

  • Sniff every image on any page; auto-scroll + auto-paginate + sort by category
  • Strip CDN thumbnail params to download original master images
  • Local MobileNet visual search (1024-D vector matching) 100% offline
  • pHash perceptual dedup folds near-duplicates into the primary card
  • E-commerce unpack for Taobao / 1688 / Amazon / Shopee
  • Social unpack for Xiaohongshu / Weibo / Instagram carousels
  • One-click push to Eagle / Billfish local asset libraries

Everything runs 100% locally. Images never leave the device. No analytics, no subscription, no paywall. Open source (MIT).

Available on Chrome Web Store, Firefox AMO, and Edge Add-ons.

Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/omnipic-studio/

Feedback welcome on which CDN platforms to support next.

You’ve found repeated evidence of the pain. The next signal I’d watch is whether people who discover Metrecept through n8n actually keep using it for their workflows, rather than just agreeing the problem exists.
