I built a free calculator comparing employment vs. self-employment taxes in Poland - here's what I learned building it solo
A few months ago I noticed there was no simple tool in Poland to
answer "how much will I actually take home" when comparing a full-time
job, a contract, or running your own business - just a mess of
outdated blog posts.
So I built PoliczNetto.pl: six free calculators covering employment
income, social security contributions, tax form selection, health
insurance contributions, and retirement savings - all localized for
Polish tax law and updated for 2026.
Built it entirely solo, alongside learning WordPress from scratch.
Currently focused on SEO content (2 articles/week) and organic growth
- no ads yet.
Happy to answer questions about the build process, the niche, or
anything else. Feedback on the product itself is very welcome too.
The idea that AI removed the cost of building but not the cost of deciding what deserves to be built really resonated.
The products that stand out over the next few years will probably be the ones that improve decision quality, not just development speed. A "kill" verdict can be just as valuable as a "go."
