I built a free geography quiz

I kept wanting a geography quiz that was beautiful, free, and no ads.

Most of the sites I used were either a typed list with a timer, a multiple-choice grind, or a map that felt like it had not been touched since 2009 - and virtually all were full of ads. I wanted to click Burkina Faso, miss, see that I hit Mali, and immediately know why I was wrong.

So I built geographyquiz.io.

It is free. No account. You open it and play.

197 countries, capitals, shapes, and flags
Click the country on the map, type the name, or go multiple choice
Continent-sized rounds when a full world run is too much
US states: find, type, shape, capital, flag
European capitals from unlabeled street maps, which is mean in a good way
Tiny countries are drawn larger so you can actually tap Vatican City and not rage-quit
The loop I care about: multiple choice to learn it, typed to prove it, then a shorter continent round for the ones you keep missing. Correct answers light up on the map, so you can watch the blank planet fill in.
