I Built a Free GWA Calculator for Students in the Philippines

As a student, I often struggled with accurately computing my General Weighted Average (GWA)—especially when different courses carried varying unit weights. I noticed classmates were either doing it manually or using outdated spreadsheets.

That experience inspired me to build a simple online GWA calculator specifically tailored for students in the Philippines. It allows users to enter their subjects, units, and grades, and instantly get their weighted average. I also added bonus tools like GWA to GPA conversion, and GWA to percentage equivalents, since these are frequently requested by students applying abroad.

You can try it here: https://gwacalculator.com.ph/

It's a niche tool, but traffic has been growing steadily thanks to academic forums and referrals from student communities. I’d love feedback from other indie hackers who’ve built tools in the education space or who are interested in creating value with utility-based microsites.
