I've been working on Shopify Scout - a free, open-source scraper that pulls any Shopify store's complete product catalog (prices, variants, compare-at sale signals) from the public /products.json endpoint. No API key, no captcha.
Why: paid "product research tools" charge $50+/month for repackaging public data. I wanted a free local alternative for dropshippers and FBA sellers doing competitor research.
It handles huge stores (tested gymshark.com: 9,466 products / 57,532 SKUs) and outputs a clean report with price stats + sale signals.

Looking for feedback - especially edge cases (stores that disable the endpoint, rate limiting). Happy to answer questions about the products.json approach!
