I built a free 'Startup Idea Validator' — validates your idea using live social media conversations

Hey folks — I'm Ashish, founder of FeedbackbyAI, which helps 10k+ founders with idea validation, business plans, and GTM content.

We just launched a new free tool to help founders instantly validate their startup idea using live social media conversations— no signup, no fluff.

🧪 What it does:

Takes your idea, industry, and audience

Runs it through live Reddit/Twitter data

Scores market demand & competition

Shows GTM suggestions, risks, and related startups

✅ Example:

“Slack-based AI accountability coach” → got 74/100
Highlighted demand surge in remote tools, key privacy risks, and high overlap with Focusmate + Motion.

🔗 Try it here → feedbackbyai.com/tools/free-startup-idea-validator/

We built this to give people instant clarity — especially useful if you’re debating between 2 ideas or want to avoid building in a vacuum.

Would love any feedback — also happy to validate your idea myself if you want to drop it below. 🙌

Thanks for sharing! Have you validated your idea with the validator?

  2. 2

Is the service down? I've just wrote 3 sentences, chose the SaaS industry and it gives me an "Failed to validate idea" error.

    1. 1

No the service isn't down , The validator is rate limited to prevent abuse. Please give it some time you will be able to try again.

    2. 1

Same here... Failed to validate idea

      1. 1

You can try again. Please give it some time incase you hit the error.

        1. 1

Ok, now it worked and gave me pretty good feedback! I was discussing my startup idea with ChatGPT before, which I think sometimes tends to be a bit overoptimistic. Getting feedback based on actual discussions tho seems to be more realistic. The only thing I'm concerned about accuracy might be that those discussions might also be full of AI bots ;) But anyway, thanks for building this tool – it seems really helpful. I like it!

          1. 1

Yes that part can surely be not ignored, but something surely can be done about that, like bringing in realusers for interview post early validation.

        2. 1

Waited for 30 minutes, but it's still not working

        3. 1

I tried several times over and over again. Not even once did it work. I haven't had 1 successful try, so the abuse is not coming from me.

          1. 2

Okay , no issues. I completely understand the frustration. I will ping you once traffic surge dies down, I guess i need to wall the service behind login.

  3. 1

Exciting tool! We also focus on fast early validation—with AI personas rather than live social media—to simulate qualitative feedback. Curious if you’ve tested your tool on niche micro‑SaaS ideas? How consistent are the results?

  4. 1

This is seriously cool — I love that you're pulling live social signals into the idea validation flow. That’s such a clean way to surface demand and avoid dead-ends.

I’ve been building something similar from a different angle (Launching in June!) — focusing more on simulated investor/user feedback and risk analysis once a founder has picked a direction.

Super curious how founders are reacting to your tool? — I’d love to swap notes sometime if you're down. Love seeing other builders tackling this early-stage clarity problem.

  5. 1

Wow nice product, I'm building an AI tool and final output quality is something I am struggling on. I will take some pointers from this

    1. 1

Great thanks for letting me know.

  6. 1

I just tested your Tool and its amazing, thank you

  7. 1

I love the idea behind this product. I myself is building a Marketing Starter Kit to help founders figure out marketing fast. I would like to try your product out and include on my starter kit and you would find the starter kit useful as well for marketing your product

    Here's the waitlist: https://wirehaired-protest-b61.notion.site/1e97648c55c880ddb946c598bdeda50f

    1. 1

Great, Let me know how i can help you more. Looking forward to your starter kit.

  8. 1

Gotta say this is a great example of a lead magnet in action. You got me to not only try it but also checkout your product! Bravo! 👏

    1. 1

The idea was just to launch it a free tool. But due to abuse had to put a auth wall and then the upsell wall.glad you tried the whole platform.

  9. 1

Just a quick update on this ,The failed to validate bug has been resolved.A patch has been applied. Incase it still happens just let me know.

  10. 1

Cool. What API do you use to search Reddit?

  11. 1

I clicked 5 times validate my idea button before it works. all others throw errors: failed to validate my idea or similar error.

    1. 1

If that happens just please try after sometimes. Best give it a 10-15 mins break

  12. 1

Daamn it actually gave me a recommended angle which basically what i was going for with my startup i just wanted to test and see how it feels but ya its really good it also gave me reddit posts and questions. Great startup 🤑🤑

    1. 1

Hey Thanks Archit, Glad it hit the spot in one go.

  13. 1

    Demand Score: 78/100

    Me happy! :)

    1. 1

Just curious though; does the quality of the prompt matter at all in regard to the results?

      My prompt was as follows:

Mind101 is an AI-powered mental health check-in app designed to offer daily emotional support, clarity, and stress relief. Users interact with a virtual coach (trained on CBT and other therapeutic techniques) that remembers past conversations, tracks progress, and helps them self-regulate... anytime, anywhere. Mind101 aims to lower the threshold for getting help by offering privacy, affordability, and instant access compared to traditional therapy.

Got 78 for my ai-generated childrens book startup. A nice tool for sure. Is this built on top of deep research from OpenAI or something? Its very cool

    1. 1

No it isn't , its custom made for social conversations. 78 is pretty solid score,. I saw mostly 72 in the comments.

  15. 1

Got 72/100. Consider that a win!

    1. 1

Wow great.. i see in comments some users too got 72..

  16. 1

Wow, this is Ashish! Just ran one of my ideas through it got instant clarity I’ve been struggling to get for weeks. Game-changing tool for any founder.

    1. 1

Thanks Tina . The full 100+ page report is even more powerful . Just give it a free try.

  17. 1

Thanks for sharing. This sounds interesting and worth a look.

  18. 1

So what is considered a high score and what are averages?

    1. 1

High score is 70-75+ Score, Averages are your regular average

      1. 1

So in the mid 60’s means less favorable but not an absolute NO?

  19. 1

    This looks interesting.

How are you using reddit / twitter data to validate this ? what do you use to compare ?

    Will take a look.

  20. 1

Are the ideas made public or retained in your app?

    1. 1

No they are not made public.

      1. 1

        I figured but I wasn't sure. Thanks!

  21. 1

This tool looks promising. I will definitely try it soon. Thanks for sharing

    1. 1

Great let me know how it goes.

  22. 1

Amazing tool, its fast and easy to use and I think the aspect of getting relevant views based on reddit is a really efficient method to validate demand.

Got 72/100 for my business idea.

  23. 1

Just a quick update on this tool, I added a Sign up with Google to prevent abuse.

  24. 1

Nice. It was fast and seamless for me.
78/100 for my business idea - Netuorked.

      1. 1

Do you think you could publish some anonymized data on how people's ideas scored? Maybe a distribution of scores and breakdown by sector/region/experience etc

        That would be super interesting

        1. 1

Added it, Though not 100% accurate but close enough for v1

        2. 1

Hey Bart Great idea, Let me think about it.

          1. 1

Nice. I'll have a good look at your platform later tonight.

  25. 1

Hey! I really like the idea of rating a business idea – especially the part with Reddit comments. That feedback was super helpful, so thanks for that!
When scrolling down, the follow-up suggestions (like TikTok generator, investor finder, business plan) didn’t quite match where I am right now.
I’ve already started building wireframes, so I’d need more of a “building assistant” AI at this point.
Still, the Reddit feedback concept is really valuable – I think there’s a lot of potential in that direction.

    1. 1

Great. Thanks you found it helpful. Yes the Tiktok automation , leadfinder from social conversation is post product. Build you can definitely try the idea brainstorming tool & the full 100+ page business planner to get utmost clarity on your idea.

I've been thinking quite a lot about startup ideas over the last two years and I ended up scoring them based on the CENTS framework from the book "The Millionaire Fastlane" from MJ DeMarco, which stands for:

    • Control: How much control do you have over your product vs. relying on third parties?
    • Entry: How difficult is it for others to enter or copy your business?
    • Need: How strongly does your business solve a real, existing market need?
    • Time: How much can you detach yourself from actively working in the business with systems and automations?
    • Scale: How easily can your business reach and serve a large audience?

    Plus one more metric:

    • Fun: How much would I enjoy working on it, and how well is it aligned with my interests?

Then rated each metric from 1 to 10 and used the average as the total score.

Not sure how useful this would be for your tool, but just as an idea.

    1. 1

I say a great idea! Good framework, I think i can let users add suggestions to filter the reports based on their preferential framework .Like the YC motto, CENTS framework etc, So it can be even more helpful for users.

  27. 1

i used it and trust me it holds a lot of potential. just the "suggest keywords" feature needs some improvemnt. it generates too specific keywords which are not found in reddit

    1. 1

Thanks a lot. Sure will take a note of that!

  28. 1

I've spent a few weeks validating demand and markting on Reddit, so I used this to back-compared my work. It's pretty good; it checked the right subreddits. What I've been doing since validation is manually through the Reddit firehose and sifting for posts that are extremely similar and fresh and then replying on them. When you wrote "Runs it through live Reddit/Twitter data" I thought you meant it would flag relevant posts to me, which I'd love!

    1. 1

Yes the premium version had this feature.Pulled it a few weeks ago, since lots of the users cared about the results.

  29. 1

Thanks for this, cool tool to have.

  30. 1

Just tried this and found the feedback very useful and insightful. Thank you for building this.

    1. 1

  32. 1

I gave it a try and was genuinely impressed. The analysis is spot-on and incredibly useful. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.

    1. 1

Hey Thanks a lot , much appreciated! Did you get a chance to try the full product ?

  33. 1

Tried it for my product I just launched a prototype for and it raised the concerns I had during the initial build. Will definitely recommend.

    1. 1

Glad , it saved you some valuable hours! The full platform is even more powerful. It's free to try most of the features.

  34. 1

I love this! What a great idea. I ran two different ideas through it real quick and the responses it gave me were pretty spot on. Very cool tool. Well done!

    1. 1
