Late 2024 I noticed AI models were becoming the new search. Brands with no AI presence were invisible to a growing chunk of potential customers. Built a tool to measure it.
Mayin scans ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, scores brand visibility, identifies gaps, and generates an action plan. Technically solid. Real problem. Sold some copies.
Then I spent months asking the harder question: is this a 10 year business?
Honestly no. GEO as a category is real but the specific pain businesses feel today is a transitional problem. AI companies will eventually productize brand visibility themselves. I didn't want to build something I'd have to abandon in 3 years and start over.
So I'm moving on to a harder, older problem in cross-border trade. Something that gets bigger not smaller over the next decade.

Happy to talk through what I learned about the GEO space too. Lot of hype, some real signal underneath.
Interesting decision.
The thing I'd be careful with is that a category becoming easier doesn't automatically mean the value disappears. Sometimes it means the value moves somewhere less obvious.
The expensive mistake is deciding you've identified a market limitation when you've actually identified a product limitation, or vice versa.
That's not a call I'd make casually in a thread.
