I built a "message in a bottle" web app because modern social media is too exhausting

I'm excited to share a project I've been pouring my heart into: OceanMail (Link: https://oceanmail.app/).
It's a beautifully simple, web-based "message in a bottle" platform where you can send anonymous thoughts out into the world and discover random letters from strangers.
🤔 Why I built it Social media today feels like a performance. Everything is tied to your identity, likes, and followers. I wanted to create a place for slower, more serendipitous interactions.
While there are other "message in a bottle" apps out there natively, almost all of them require a heavy app store download. I wanted to remove that friction completely.
✨ What makes it different? OceanMail brings the serendipity of anonymous letters directly to the browser. It's built as a PWA, meaning it feels like a native app on mobile but requires zero installation.
Write & Send: Share a passing thought, a worry, or a piece of comfort with no pressure.
Discover: Find random letters washing ashore from different parts of the world.
Connect: Reply to letters that resonate with you.
Global from Day 1: Fully localized in English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese right out of the box.
🛠️ The Tech Context
Frontend: React + Vite + Tailwind CSS + Framer Motion (for those calming wave animations!)
Backend: Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions)
Engagement: Web Push Notifications (FCM) so users don't miss replies even without a native app.
💬 Looking for your feedback! Since it's a web app, I've bypassed the app store algorithms, but I know cold-starting a social product is incredibly hard.
