Hey everyone.
When I was teaching myself to code I was quite lonely at times and my progress felt way too slow.
In my search for a coding buddy/accountability partner, I realized that I was not the only one fighting distractions and procrastination … this is when the idea for Codum.cc originated.
-> A platform that matches you with an accountability partner to learn and build with a partner in crime.
Some have found their cofounders at Codum but at its core lies learning and building projects - so no promises you will find a cofounder.

Cool platform. Perhaps we can collaborate somehow. I have a mobile app called IdeaGrowr (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.juliushuijnk.tools.ideagrowr). Free, no ads, no account required. Quite a lot of users and decent rating.
Currently it's a "single player" app, and I've held off online features in the past, but perhaps we can come up with something neat.

good idea, if you manage to find people, but considering none of the other similar websites never did manage it why do you think you can do it?
Hey @petrovn, thanks for your comment! Depending on which websites you are referring to … some try to match two different groups (mentors-mentees) but struggle with the typical marketplace issue (chicken-egg problem), others are trying to build yet another community (which is really, really hard) …
We’re (as for now) focussing purely on matching for accountability and are spreading the word through existing communities and course providers. For now, this has worked well as many learners struggle with motivation to keep going consistently no matter if they’re part of a community or if they just graduated from a coding bootcamp.
that sounds like attempting to make someone keep their "new year's resolution", a seriously difficult task.

You can think of it as doing what "tandem" or "hellotalk" do for language learning. There are some parallels in terms of social learning for people that are on their own - but applied to different skills. :)
