I built a programmatic SEO site with 900+ pages in a week — here's how

I've been experimenting with programmatic SEO as a monetization strategy and just launched SoftwareDuel.com — an HR and payroll software comparison site.

Here's what I built in about a week:

  • 30+ HR and payroll tools in a Supabase database

  • 870 comparison pages auto-generated from the database

  • 30 alternatives pages and 30 review pages

  • Dynamic sitemap that auto-updates as I add tools

  • Affiliate applications submitted to 15+ programs

Tech stack: Next.js 16, Supabase (Postgres), Vercel, Cloudflare

The idea is simple — target bottom-of-funnel keywords like "Gusto vs Rippling" and "BambooHR alternatives" that buyers search when they're close to making a purchase decision. These convert well for affiliate commissions.

Still early days — waiting on affiliate approvals and for Google to index the pages. But the foundation is solid.

Happy to answer questions about the build or the programmatic SEO approach!
