I built a pure pay-to-rank leaderboard for Chrome extensions because the CWS algorithm is brutal

Let’s be real—the Chrome Web Store discovery system is punishing for indie builders. If you aren't dropping cash on heavy ads or gaming exact search keywords from day one, your tool gets buried on page 20 instantly.

I got tired of watching great extensions die an invisible death, so I built TopExtension.lol (https://www.topextension.lol/).

How it works:
It’s a pure pay-to-rank leaderboard inspired by models like outbid.lol.

No complex algorithms.

No fake reviews.

No waiting 6 months for SEO.

You submit your CWS link, outbid the extension above you starting at just $1, and take the top spot instantly. Pure cash-for-visibility.

I just updated the headline to keep it dead simple: "Get your Chrome extension seen. Starting at $1."

If you've built an extension and are tired of fighting the CWS queue, grab a spot and let me know what you think of the model. Would love your brutal feedback on the pricing loop! 👇

The auction is not your product, the traffic is, and right now you are selling placement on a page with no audience yet, so the $1 bid is priced about right. I would flip the build order: publish something extension developers actually return for (honest rankings, install-growth data, a weekly roundup), then sell the top slot once a slot is worth paying for. The other structural problem with outbid mechanics is that only one bidder wins, so everyone else churns the same week, which is why these sites spike and then flatline.
