I built a small AI tool to analyze YouTube titles — looking for honest feedback from creators & builders

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

I’m a solo builder and YouTube enthusiast. Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on a small side project to solve a problem I kept running into myself:

Before publishing a YouTube video, it’s hard to know if a title is actually good — or if you’re just guessing.

So I built a lightweight tool that:

Analyzes a YouTube title

Scores it for performance potential

Breaks down SEO vs CTR vs clarity

Suggests improved title variations ranked by strength

It’s still early, free to use, and very much in learning mode.

I’m not trying to sell anything right now — I’m genuinely looking for feedback on:

Whether this is actually useful

What feels confusing or unnecessary

What you’d expect from a tool like this before trusting it

Here’s the link if you want to try it:

If you’ve built creator tools, analytics tools, or AI utilities before, I’d especially love to hear:

How you validated usefulness early on

What signals told you “this is worth continuing”

Thanks for reading, and appreciate any honest feedback

You built the tool before validating if creators actually pay for title optimization.
Most YouTubers use free tools (ChatGPT, TubeBuddy free tier) or guess. The ones who pay for TubeBuddy Pro ($9/mo) are your market, but they're already locked in.
Before you get "feedback" (which is free and worthless), do you know:
Market size for paid title optimization (hint: it's small)
Why they'd switch from existing tools
If this is a B2C tool (creators) or B2B (agencies managing multiple channels)
I can validate the actual demand in 3 mins using search data + competitor gaps. Better to know if this has legs before you spend months iterating on a tool nobody pays for.
What's your monetization plan - subscription per video, monthly SaaS, or one-time?

Great points — appreciate you pushing on this.

You’re right that most casual creators won’t pay for “title optimization” alone. The real question isn’t “will creators pay for better titles?” — it’s:

Who feels the pain strongly enough to pay?

Right now I’m exploring three angles:

1️⃣ Serious small creators (1k–50k subs)
They’ve tasted growth and care about CTR, but aren’t ready for $99/mo tools.

      2️⃣ Agencies / channel managers
They manage multiple channels and test variations constantly. For them, time saved + structured scoring might justify a subscription.

3️⃣ Creators already paying for TubeBuddy Pro
Not to replace it, but to complement it — TubeBuddy focuses heavily on SEO volume data, while I’m leaning more into CTR psychology and hook strength.

On monetization, I’m currently leaning toward:

      Free tier (limited analyses/day)

      Low-ticket monthly SaaS (sub-$10/mo)

Possibly a higher-tier plan for agencies (multi-channel / bulk testing)

I agree feedback alone isn’t validation — usage + retention will matter more.

If you’re open to it, I’d actually be curious how you’d validate demand using search data + competitor gaps. Always happy to stress-test the idea early rather than overbuild.
