I Built a Sunlight Tracking App! I'd love to get some feedback 🙏

Hey hackers :) I just launched a new app for the first time in 4 years. I'm really excited about it, and I'd love your feedback. Here is how it happened!

Andrew Huberman of the Huberman Lab podcast talks a lot about morning sunlight exposure and how beneficial it is to our health. Most of the health benefits (better mood, increased alertness, deeper sleep, and more) come from the fact that viewing morning sunlight syncs up your body's internal clock, its circadian rhythm.

The tricky part is that the amount of sunlight you should can vary. On a cloudy day, that number might be 20 minutes. On a clear sunny morning, it can be 5. This, along with the fact that it's an easy, free, healthy habit, inspired me to build Riseroo.

Riseroo uses the iPhone's camera to calculate optimal sunlight viewing time based on light measurement, time of day, and current weather. From there, users can track this habit using streaks, milestones, and insights.

It was built 100% using SwiftUI.

The app can be found here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sunlight-tracking-by-riseroo/id6446605216

For those interested, I documented the entire behind-the-scenes process of building the app on my YouTube channel. I love sharing my story, so if you're interested, this is my channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/LoganKoshenka
