🚀 I built a tiny Chrome extension because I was tired of copy-pasting code from ChatGPT… and it blew up my workflow

Every day I use ChatGPT to generate code — HTML, JS, components, snippets, whatever.
And every day I kept doing the same boring loop:

Copy → Create file → Paste → Save → Repeat.

It sounds small… until you do it 50 times a day.
It was killing my flow.

So I built something ridiculously simple:
👉 a “Download” button directly above each ChatGPT code block.
Click once → instantly downloads the file in the right format.
No more copy-paste. No more friction. No more context switching.

I called it ExportGPTCode.

I built it for myself, but every time I showed it to another dev the reaction was the same:
“OMG why doesn’t this already exist?”

Now I’m putting it out there.
If you use ChatGPT for coding, this removes a surprisingly big annoyance.

Would love feedback from the IH community:

  • Useful or too niche?

  • What would you improve?

  • Any features you’d want next?

Happy to share the journey if people are interested 🚀
