I design timber stairs for a living. I survey sites, I design the structures, I work with the teams who fit them. I’ve been doing it for years.
But I also built a SaaS product. Because I had a problem that nobody was solving properly.
Here’s the thing — I needed to post on LinkedIn to grow my business. Like most founders, I’d end up on ChatGPT, throw something together, and post it. It looked generic. It sounded like everyone else. It wasn’t me.
So I built PipeKiln.
It starts with a 10-minute voice interview. Not a form. Not a questionnaire. An actual conversation where you talk like yourself. PipeKiln captures how you speak — the words you use, the way you structure thoughts, the opinions you actually hold.
From there it:
Generates a Daily Plan so you know what to post and who to engage with today
Seeds your ideal client profile and content angles from that interview
Lets you draft LinkedIn posts inline from your task list (no context switching)
Tracks your pipeline so you can nudge warm conversations instead of shouting into the void
When a LinkedIn post performs well, it can generate a longer piece in your voice so you don’t waste a good idea.
What it isn’t:
It’s not another AI writing tool that makes you sound like a TED Talk reject
It’s not a scheduler with a GPT wrapper bolted on
It’s not going to write “I’m humbled to announce…” on your behalf
What it is:
A voice-first content engine for founders, consultants, and contractors who sell through relationships
Built by one person (me) who was sick of the gap between how I talk and how AI writes
The honest bit: I’ve only just launched. There’s no team — it’s just me. I don’t have 500 case studies or a “trusted by 10,000 founders” banner. What I do have is a product that genuinely solves a problem I had every single day.
If you’re someone who’s brilliant at what you do but can’t be arsed spending hours crafting LinkedIn posts that don’t even sound like you — this is for you.
I’d love honest feedback. Don’t kiss my arse. Tell me what’s broken, what’s missing, what’s bullshit.
Honest question for the IH crowd:
How do you position a product when everyone thinks AI writing = slop?
I've built something that genuinely captures voice and tone (the interview process is the differentiator), but the second I say "AI content tool", half the room switches off.
Also stuck on pricing. Currently £49/mo for Starter (300 AI actions), £99/mo for Professional (1,000 actions), and a £249/mo Team tier. Annual billing saves ~17%. Is that too cheap? Too expensive? I genuinely don't know yet because I've only just launched and haven't validated willingness to pay at scale.
Would love brutal honesty on both. What would make you trust an AI content tool enough to actually use it?
Built this solo in 2 months with Lovable (AI-powered dev tool), Supabase for the backend, and the Lovable AI gateway for model routing. The voice interview uses a conversational prompt structure I built from scratch — spent a long time (v1 - v3) dialling it in so it actually captures how people talk, not just what they say.
Started as a side project while I was still running my stair design business. No funding. No co-founder. Just me trying to solve a problem I had every single day.
Tech choices:
Lovable because I'm not a full-time dev and needed to move fast
Supabase because RLS + Postgres is basically perfect for SaaS
Voice-first interview instead of forms because people talk differently than they type
The hard part wasn't the code — it was figuring out how to extract someone's voice in 10 minutes and turn it into content that actually sounds like them.
