I'm the CMO and founder of a new industry association (amongst other brands).
Early on, we used a content strategy that I have been using since 2007: find a post on Facebook or LinkedIn where someone is struggling with a real problem, then write a blog post that answers it.
Find the pains, write about them in the same way, same language, and add your solution, so the content reads and breathes authenticity and understanding of our ideal audience. The results were as good as those of the writer who knew how to do it.
The problem was that the process hadn't changed since I first implemented it, and frankly, it was a nightmare (it's a different thing doing this alone on your own time, and a different thing creating a framework for a team of 2, 5, 10 people)
My 2-person outsourced team would spend hours each week hunting through social media, identifying the right posts, extracting the core problem, then writing a full piece around it - yes, many times by copying and pasting it into their favorite LLM.
The bigger problem was that for every piece that made it to the approval phase (none of them are live yet), three more died somewhere in the process. It was a bottleneck we just lived with. Content being not relevant, the writer losing his/her focus, time problems, brand voice problems, you name it.
I kept thinking — I wish I had a tool for this ten years ago.
Tried looking for a tool that could help, but everything was either a social media scheduler or an AI writing tool that had no connection to real audience conversations.
So I identified a gap between finding a post worth responding to and publishing content about it — with my own brand voice and instructions - and no one was solving that.
Until now.
Three months ago, I started building PostMine. As a marketer with some coding background, I had to learn things I had no idea how they would work together — Chrome Extension APIs, Google Cloud, enough stuff to get dangerous and blow the whole project up in the air (I have blown up several tries of other stuff). I leaned heavily on AI coding tools throughout; I won't pretend otherwise. But I built it, it works, and honestly, the process taught me more than I expected.
It is basically a Chrome extension combined with an app, and it is super easy to use (I am an advocate of easy and simple).
Here is how it works:
You right-click any post on social media,
Hit Capture or Engage,
PostMine generates a full content pack — 1000-word blog post, LinkedIn article, Twitter thread, Instagram caption — written in your brand voice.
What used to take me and my team hours now takes seconds. Plus, it inserts comments into posts in your voice, if you have nothing to say and HAVE to respond (I am sure you have been there).
PostMine is live in the Chrome Web Store as of a couple of days ago.
For those curious, here is our social to blog post framework:
1. Find a post that a) has a real customer problem and b) has real heat, like comments, reactions, and people tagging others. As you probablbly most know better than me, volume means relevance. If people are piling on, the pain is real.
2. Identify the exact problem — in their words - not your interpretation of it. Their words. Copy the language directly. This is what makes the content feel like it was written for them.
3. Make that problem your headline. If they said, "I can't get my team to actually use our CRM" — that's your title. Do not translate that into "5 CRM adoption strategies." Ever. (Ok, maybe in another post in the silo).
4. Answer it like you're talking to that person. Not a general audience. That specific person in that specific post. Everything else follows.
5. Write in your brand voice. As you probably know, generic AI output is obvious and easily forgettable, not to mention boring most of the time. Write in your perspective, your tone, your take. Yes, LLMs help a great deal, but needs editing. Sometimes it's better to just do the work.
PostMine handles steps 2 through 5 automatically. You still have to find the post. For now
