Hey everyone! π
I'm launching Skillhacker β a simple platform where developers can test their knowledge, practice, and see how they stack up against the average.
Personal pain, honestly. I've been through dozens of technical interviews, and every time I got an invite, I'd feel this gnawing uncertainty: "Do I actually know my stuff? What are my blind spots? How do I compare to other mid-level/senior devs out there?"
There are tons of question banks and LeetCode-style platforms, but I couldn't find something simple that would:
Let me quickly test myself without committing to a 2-hour coding session
Show me where I stand compared to others (am I above average? below? where are my gaps?)
Give me a focused practice mode to drill weak spots before an interview
So I built it.
Quiz format: Multiple-choice questions (4 options) across different tech stacks
Two modes:
π― Testing mode β take a test, get your score, see how you compare to the community average
πͺ Practice mode β drill questions, learn from mistakes, focus on weak areas
Benchmarking β see your level vs. the average participant
It's early stage, focused on the core loop: test β benchmark β practice β improve.
More tech stacks and difficulty levels
Detailed analytics (your weak topics, progress over time)
Community features (leaderboards, study groups)
Since I'm targeting the US/EU market, I'm especially curious:
Would you use this before interviews? What's missing?
What tech stacks should I prioritize? (Started with JS/TS, Python, SQL)
Is the benchmarking angle valuable, or do you prefer pure practice?
Be brutal β I need honest feedback to make this actually useful.
Thanks for reading! Happy to answer any questions in the comments.
