I built a travel app solo and I am currently using it for a 100 day Southeast Asia sabbatical. Here is why I built it.

There is a moment every traveller knows. You have fifteen browser tabs open, confirmation emails buried somewhere in your inbox, a budget spreadsheet that stopped making sense two weeks ago and a growing feeling that the trip you were so excited about has become a second job to manage.

I am a solo founder from the UK. Not a developer but I come from a technical background. I built Tripably over six months outside of my normal job using AI assisted no code tools. No investors, no co-founder, just a genuine frustration with how scattered travel planning is and a belief that something better was possible.

I am now 16 days into a 100 day sabbatical across Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines and Thailand, using my own product to manage every booking, track every expense and plan every leg of the journey. Zero paying customers so far. The first one is coming and I know it will feel like everything shifted.
