I built a simple travel risk map using live data from NASA (wildfires) and USGS (earthquakes).
You can also use your current location to instantly see nearby risks.
The goal is to quickly check if there are any dangers before or during a trip.
Right now it’s more of a raw tool than a finished product.
Would you actually use something like this?
What would make it truly useful for you (alerts, route-based warnings, recommendations, etc.)?
This is a solid idea — especially the real-time angle.
Feels like something where trust + clarity of output will matter more than features early on (people won’t rely on it otherwise).
One thing though — the current name/URL feels very functional.
If this starts getting traction, I’d seriously think about a more brandable name. In something like travel safety, perception matters a lot.
Thanks, I really appreciate your feedback!
makes sense — still early
are you planning to keep the current name long-term, or just using it as a working name for now?
Good question — right now it’s just a working name.
I haven’t focused on branding yet, just trying to validate if the idea itself is useful.
But I agree, if this grows, the name will definitely matter.
Yeah exactly — just a working name for now.
But you’re right — in something like travel safety, the name has to feel trustworthy from the first second.
I’ve actually been collecting a few brandable .com options for this direction (short, clean, no baggage).
If you’re ever exploring names on your side too, happy to share a couple that would fit this kind of product.
Appreciate it — for now I’m just focusing on validating whether it’s actually useful. Thanks for the feedback.
Update: I added a "use my location" feature, so you can instantly check risks around you.
Still trying to understand if this is actually useful in real life.
