Chattr is a social platform for Twitch viewers and streamers. Post updates, react with Twitch emotes, get live alerts, and stay connected with the people you watch — without opening six different apps.
nteresting space — anything around Twitch/social is brutally competitive.
One thing that usually decides early growth is how instantly the name sticks.
“Chattr” feels close, but not super distinctive yet.
Curious — are you locked into the name, or still open to something stronger if this starts picking up?
I'm still open to changing names if there is anything better. I wanted a chatter domain at first, but they were either gone or very expensive. I found chattr.online for $1 and it fits the Twitch ethos of chat and chatters being a well-renowned word within the community.
I've learned that because of AI, people aren't trusting of social networks. Especially ones that are connected to another service, but I am doing everything I can to ensure security is up to todays standards.
Any feedback to the name, site design or general improvements is very welcome, and I'm always listening.
Yeah that makes sense — “Chattr” fits the culture, but it still feels like a slight variation of an existing word rather than something people instantly lock onto.
In spaces like this (Twitch/social), the name usually needs to do more than describe — it needs to feel native to the ecosystem and be instantly repeatable.
Right now the risk is:
→ sounds familiar
→ but not distinct enough to own
And with something like this, if it works, the name ends up carrying a lot of the growth (word of mouth, recall, etc).
If you’re open to it, I wouldn’t just look for “a better version of chatter” — I’d look for something that:
→ feels native to Twitch culture
→ but still stands on its own as a product
Happy to actually map a few stronger directions (not just random names) based on how you want this to grow — because the direction matters more than the word itself.
