I built a US stock portfolio tracker for long-term investors β€” just launched public beta

Hey IH πŸ‘‹

I'm Roger, solo dev based in HK. Just launched the public beta of Asset Quadrant β€” a portfolio tracker built specifically for long-term US stock investors.

The problem I was solving for myself:

Most trackers are built for day traders or budgeters. I wanted something that shows true cost basis, realized/unrealized P&L across multiple brokerage accounts, and an AI digest that gives an honest data-backed summary β€” not hype.

What's live today:

  • Multi-account US stock tracking

  • - True cost basis + realized/unrealized P&L

  • - AI portfolio digest (data first, no fluff)

  • - CSV import, mobile-friendly

Where I'm at:

  • Just launched on Product Hunt last week

  • - Building in public on X (@AssetQuadrant)

  • - Looking for early users who actually hold stocks long-term

What I'd love from IH:

Honest feedback on the onboarding β€” do you understand what it does in the first 30 seconds?

Portfolio tracker category is saturated. "Long-term investor" specifically is owned by Sharesight (tax-lot tracking, dividend management, broker integrations). Plus Yahoo Finance, Google Finance, Snowball, Stock Events, Portseido β€” most free. And US brokers already show cost basis and P&L.

Features you listed are table stakes. What long-term investors need but you're missing: dividend tracking, DRIP, tax-lot management, tax-loss harvesting, asset allocation. Sharesight does all of these.

"AI portfolio digest" works against your ICP. Long-term investors want to hold, not trade. Daily AI summaries encourage over-checking and action bias.

CSV import is wrong unlock for US investors β€” brokers integrate via Plaid.

The wedge you missed is your own context. Hong Kong founder, US stocks β€” non-US investors holding US equities is underserved (currency, tax treaty, dividend withholding, broker limitations). Your lived experience IS the wedge. "Tracker for non-US investors holding US stocks" beats "US stock long-term investors" by miles.
