I built a video-first dating app solo, with zero funding

I'm Farid, and I've spent the last months building wicwoc (wicwoc.com) completely solo — no funding, no team, no outside help. It's a video-first dating platform: every profile has to post a short verification video before they can use the app, which cuts down massively on fake profiles and scams compared to photo-only dating apps.

A few things I built from scratch: real-time messaging, mutual-match video calls, a premium "anonymous mode" with blurred video reveal, and a manual SEPA payment system (no card processor yet — dating is considered high-risk by most acquirers, so I built my own bank-transfer wallet system instead).

The site is live now in French, English and Spanish. No users yet beyond testing — just launched a Product Hunt page scheduled for Tuesday, and reaching out to press. Happy to answer any questions about the build, the anti-fraud approach, or the payment workaround.
