Hey Indie Hackers,
We’ve all been there: a friend launches on Product Hunt, a collaborator goes above and beyond, or a peer hits a major milestone. You want to send a "congrats" or a "thank you," but sending more physical "stuff" or a generic gift card often feels a bit hollow and usually ends up in a junk drawer.
I wanted to change that. I built Gift Environmental Impact to make gifting more meaningful and less wasteful.
The idea is simple: instead of a physical object, you send a personalized digital gift that funds verified environmental projects like planting trees, removing ocean plastic, or carbon offsets. The recipient gets a beautiful, personalized certificate showing the real-world impact made in their name. It’s a gift that actually does something for the planet instead of just taking up space.
Why I’m sharing this here:
I’m looking to get some honest feedback on the flow and the concept. I’d love for this community to roast the landing page or share your thoughts on whether "Impact Gifting" is something you'd actually use.
Give it a try:
If you want to congratulate a fellow founder on a launch or show some real appreciation to a mentor, try gifting a lasting impact here:
👉 Send an Eco-Friendly Gift
If you’re curious about how it works, I actually just wrote a blog about it:

Would love to hear your thoughts! Does this feel like a better way to celebrate a win than a $10 Amazon card?
Love this concept — turning everyday gifting into real environmental impact is a smart and meaningful twist. The idea feels timely, especially for founders who want to celebrate wins in a more thoughtful way. Excited to see how this evolves! 🌍👏
Love this concept — it's solving a real pain point I didn't know I had. I've definitely sent those "congrats" messages that feel hollow.
The 30-second flow is smart. Reducing friction for good deeds is underrated. I'd actually use this for client onboarding — "thanks for trusting us, here's some trees in your name" feels way better than swag.
One thought: the "30 seconds" pitch is strong for consumers, but for B2B you might want to emphasize the story/recipient experience more. Companies care about the optics and the shareability of the certificate.
Great landing page too — clean, clear CTA. Nice work!
Really appreciate the feedback! You hit the nail on the head. Client onboarding is one of our favorite use cases. It sets a much better tone for a partnership than another plastic pen.
Great point on the B2B optics, too. We’ve focused on making the impact certificates fully shareable so companies can showcase their contributions. Definitely looking into more ways to make that 'story' even more powerful for the recipient. Thanks for the kind words on the landing page!
Love the idea of making real environmental impact accessible so quickly — that’s a powerful concept. I’m curious how you ensure long-term engagement with people who participate once — is there a follow-up or retention strategy to deepen impact over time?
Thanks! Regarding long-term engagement: that’s exactly why we built the Business Solutions side: https://1clickimpact.com/business
While the gift is a great 'one-off,' we’re seeing more users move toward our API and Zapier integrations to automate impact. This allows them to deepen their commitment by making every transaction or monthly milestone a recurring contribution. We also send updates on the specific projects (like tree growth or plastic collection) to keep that connection alive!
Love the concept. Just took a look at the gifting page, the 30-second claim holds up, the flow is super clean. One question: Do you have a way to handle corporate gifting for larger teams or clients, or is it strictly 1-on-1 for now? I could see this being a massive win for companies trying to hit ESG goals with their holiday gifts.
Great question! We’ve actually had quite a few requests for corporate gifting lately. While the site is currently optimized for 1-on-1 fast gifting, we also have a streamlined way to handle larger teams and corporate orders to ensure everything is personalized perfectly at scale.
If you’re looking to hit specific ESG goals for a team or client list, feel free to check out our business page (https://1clickimpact.com/business). Would love to help you get that set up!
