Hey Indie Hackers! I’m Jay.
I built Travelogue to solve my own problem: stop travel photos from sitting forgotten in my camera roll, and turn them into interactive, narrated moving-map memoirs.
Standard photo albums feel static, and writing detailed journals manually takes too much time. I wanted a way to actually relive the journey—route, photos, audio, and storytelling all synced together.
🗺️ Automatic Route Mapping: Extracts EXIF timestamp and GPS data directly from uploaded photos to plot your trail on an interactive map.
✍️ AI Travel Memoirs: Turns quick notes or reflections into beautifully written travelogue books styled after classic literary authors.
🎙️ Cinematic Trip Replays: Generates a synchronized slideshow with smooth map camera movements, photo transitions, background music, and voice narration.
Built with React/TypeScript on the frontend and Mapbox GL for map animations.
Implemented multi-phase audio generation logic to sync narration smoothly with map movements and photo transitions.
We’re giving all early testers 110 free credits (enough to generate full books and slideshow replays for 2 complete trips) so you can test all the features out.

I’d love your feedback on the mapping transitions, UI/UX, or any features you'd like to see next!
