A month ago I launched East Africa Tech Tenders — a weekly briefing curating verified technology tender opportunities across 9 East African markets (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan, DRC, Somalia).
The problem I was solving: ICT vendors and system integrators operating in East Africa have no reliable way to track procurement opportunities. Government portals are inconsistent, multilateral donor notices are scattered across 12+ platforms, and deadlines are missed constantly.
What I built: A curated weekly briefing monitoring 80+ sources — government portals, World Bank, AfDB, UN agencies, EU-funded programmes — filtered, verified, and delivered every Friday.
The differentiator: An "Upcoming Intelligence" section — pre-tender signals on programmes not yet formally tendered. This is what raw aggregators can't do.
One month in: 25 subscribers, growing organically. Corporate subscribers include a JSE-listed tech group, an authorised Cisco/CompTIA training centre with offices in 5 countries, and the CEO of an ISO 27001-certified cybersecurity firm.
Happy to answer questions about the East Africa ICT market, how I source and verify tenders, or the Ghost + Paddle setup I'm using.
