Hey Indie Hackers đź‘‹
I just launched my first WordPress plugin called Video Gallery for WooCommerce.
The problem I was trying to solve:
Product images are not enough anymore. Customers want to see the product in action, not just look at static photos.
So I built a plugin that lets store owners:
• Replace or extend the product image gallery with videos
• Embed YouTube, Vimeo or self hosted videos
• Show videos directly inside the WooCommerce product gallery
• Track basic video engagement like views and watch time (new feature I just started building)
Why I built this:
I run a small dev studio called Nitramix and I kept seeing the same issue with client stores. They had great products but poor presentation. Adding videos manually was messy and inconsistent.
This is my first real product launch and I would love honest feedback:
• Would you use something like this
• What features would make this a no brainer for you
• What would you expect to pay for a pro version

Thanks in advance. Happy to answer any questions.
Congrats on the launch — this solves a very real WooCommerce problem.
One thing I’d be curious about as you validate this:
how are store owners deciding where to place video in the gallery?
From what I’ve seen, adoption increases when:
• Video is the first gallery item for hero products
• There’s a clear CTA overlay (“Watch in action”)
• Analytics ties video views → conversion impact (not just watch time)
If you can clearly show “video = higher conversion” inside the product,
this becomes a no-brainer plugin.
Happy to share a simple feature prioritization framework if useful.
Thanks, really appreciate that insight. Right now the video is injected directly into the standard WooCommerce product gallery, and store owners can already choose whether it appears at the start or at the end of the gallery depending on the product and use case.
I’m also actively working on analytics per video, so merchants can see how each video performs, not just watch time but how it correlates with product engagement and conversions.
Fully agree that making the “video = higher conversion” impact visible inside the product experience is what turns this into a true no brainer plugin.
Really interesting plugin — product videos are genuinely underused in WooCommerce stores.
One thing I noticed on the landing page: the hero video requires a click to play, which means most visitors never see it. At that stage they're still deciding whether to stay, an autoplay silent demo or even a static screenshot would do more conversion work in those first few seconds.
The features section also leads with capabilities before showing why videos matter for sales. Store owners are thinking "how do I get more conversions" not "I need flexible video positioning." Leading with the outcome rather than the feature usually changes how people engage with the page.
Anyway — rooting for it. Solid idea and clear use case
Congrats on the launch! What channels are you testing to bring in your first customers?
