I built an AI compliance screening platform as a solo founder

After spending years watching companies struggle with vendor risk assessment -- juggling spreadsheets, manually checking sanctions lists, and paying six figures for enterprise tools -- I decided to build something better.

LexFlag (https://lexflag.com) automates vendor, supply chain, and third-party risk screening using AI entity matching. It screens entities against global sanctions lists, adverse media, and compliance databases with real-time risk scoring.

I built the entire platform solo using Laravel, OpenAI, and AWS. It took about [X months] from first commit to launch. Today it went live on Product Hunt as well.

Some lessons learned along the way:

• Start with a narrow use case and expand from there

• SEO matters from day one, not as an afterthought

• Compliance is a surprisingly underserved market for self-serve SaaS
