I built an AI CV tool after getting ghosted on 30 job applications myself. 3 months in, here's what I got right — and what's not converting

In 2025 I applied to 47 roles. Heard back from 3.
I used every tool I could find — Jobscan, Resume Worded, generic ChatGPT prompts. They all gave me scores. None of them told me what to actually write.

So I built GhostAI — paste your CV + a job description, get your match score, see the missing keywords, and get specific rewritten bullets for that role.

Where I am now (3 months in):

→ Launched April 2026
→ ~180 CVs reviewed so far
→ Free tier + paid plans live
→ Conversion from free → paid: embarrassingly low (honest answer: I don't know why yet)

What I think is working: The "no signup required to try" flow gets people in. The bullet rewriter gets genuine "oh, that's actually better" reactions in feedback sessions.

What I think is broken: I have three anonymous testimonials from "Graduate Applicant, London." My gut says nobody believes them. I don't have a single story that ends with "...and then I got the interview."

I also have no idea if my copy lands for someone who is six weeks into a job search and starting to feel desperate — which is 80% of my target user.

Three specific questions for this community:

  1. If you've job hunted in the last 2 years — what would make you trust a tool like this enough to upload your CV? What would stop you?
  2. My brand name is GhostAI. The irony (job seekers get ghosted) was intentional. Does that land or does it make you immediately distrust it?
  3. I'm debating gating the full rewrite behind signup vs. letting the whole thing run free. What did you find worked at this stage?

Homepage is ghostaicorp.com — brutal feedback welcome. I'd rather hear it now than wonder why nobody's converting. https://www.ghostaicorp.com/
